December 2010 Eden Release Information
For the last few months the team at Preation has been hard at work developing some exciting new features that are now available to use within your Eden account. Our December 2010 release is all about laying the foundation for the future of web content marketing and changing how you promote your business online.
Our December 2010 release is the first of four releases that will launch Eden Platform version 2.0. Eden Platform version 2.0 will be the first true website content marketing platform for small businesses. New features in the December 2010 Eden release are described below.
New at-a-glance content marketing dashboard
Immediately when you log in you'll see a new content marketing dashboard that shows the number of pageviews and conversions your site over the last month. The percentage increase or decrease trend is easily seen through the simple red and green colored arrows.
A visitor quality graph is coming soon. With this release we begin capturing visitor quality data for your website and soon we'll be able to display a measurement of the quality of your website traffic in your content marketing dashboard.
Conversion tracking
We are now tracking online conversions as represented by your website form submissions. More conversions types will be coming soon.
Within the forms module you can now toggle each of your forms to track conversions or to not track conversions. The default setting is to track conversions.
Soon, with this new keyword-based conversion data, we'll help you hone in on the keywords that provide your business the most visitor conversions. With this information you'll be able to seize the opportunity to optimize and expand your site with your highest value keywords which will drive more results for your business.
Performance gains
We have done some much needed "housekeeping" within Eden and that has substantially increased overall efficiency. For you this means everything is faster. Old data is stored more efficiently and new data is being transferred faster. The new website content marketing dashboard now loads 30 times faster. Yes, you read that correctly. That's a 3,000% increase in speed! No more waiting when you log in to Eden.
Tracking new information
Although much of this has happened behind the scenes, we've started tracking a plethora of new information about your Eden website behind the scenes. We'll be showing you more of that information in the upcoming releases. Stay tuned for a handful of new valuable reports that will allow you to make web content management decisions that will produce the most results for your business.
Frequently Asked Questions About the December 2010 Eden Release
Where did the old dashboard reports go?
They're just one click away when you log in to your Eden website. Beside the 'My Account' and 'Domains' buttons on your dashboard you'll now see a 'Reports' button. This will take you to the daily pageview, top pages, and unique visitors reports that you used to see right on your dashboard.
Why did you change the dashboard?
The new content marketing dashboard lets you instantly see how your website is performing as a marketing investment for your business. The new dashboard focuses on the results of your efforts instead of simply reporting your efforts (ie: optimization, pages).
What is this new stuff on my dashboard?
As you add new optimized content to your website your new content marketing dashboard will let you see how much traffic you're attracting (visitor quantity), if you're getting the right type of traffic (visitor quality), and how much value that traffic has produced (results from visitors). You also see trending information for each value which tells you if your recent web marketing efforts are helping or hurting your goals.
Why isn't the Visitor Quality score available on my dashboard yet?
With the December 2010 Eden release we began tracking new information behind-the-scenes for your Eden website. Over time we'll be able to use that data to calculate a visitor quality score for your website. Once enough data is ready for your website we'll push the next Eden release that will begin displaying your trended visitory quality score on your dashboard.
What is a conversion (Results from Traffic)?
Right now a conversion is a form submission. Each time one of your Eden forms (if it has the Track option set) is submitted, a conversion is registered for your website. In the future you'll be able to associate other actions as conversions to be tracked as well.
What do the new "track" and "don't track" form settings do?
This is how you tell Eden which forms you want to be tracked as conversions. When the track option is activated for a form, submissions for that form will be counted as conversions. Use the "track" option for forms that are important to your business, ie: each submission is valuable to your marketing efforts. For example, a good form to track as a conversion is a sales lead form. Use the "don't track" option for forms that don't represent value to your marketing efforts. For example, a contact us form.
