Getting Started Guide: Theme Settings
Eden Platform allows you to control image and text elements that are shown across many pages of your website from a single location. This is particularly useful for images like your logo or page headers and text like copyright details and legal disclaimers that display at the bottom of many pages.
Sitewide Theme Settings
To set or change the sitewide settings for your website click on Pages at the top of an Eden Platform administrative interface. Click on the Eden Platform box at the top of your page tree and select the option for Theme Settings.

This will load the list of theme settings that have been configured for your website.
A couple of different types of Theme Settings options exist. Each setting will ask you to enter one of four different types of information:
- Text
- File (Image or Document)
- Text Paragraph
- Website Page

The field name and associated descriptive text (above or below each form field) will provide you an explanation of where and how each field is used throughout the site.
For example, a Text field might be named "Copyright Text" with a description that says "This copyright message is displayed throughout your website in the page footer." You could then enter the text "Copyright 2008" into the field to place this text in your page footer sitewide. At a later time you could come back to your sitewide theme settings to update this field to "Copyright 2009."
This feature will save you valuable time when changing text and images that are displayed across your website.
Overriding Theme Settings for a Page
Sitewide theme settings are very useful when you want to specify text or images to be displayed on many pages of your website. But what if you need to show unique images or text in an area that is controlled by theme settings on a single page? This can be accomplished by overriding a theme setting for that page.
To do this, click on Pages at the top of any Eden Platform administrative interface to visit the page tree. Click on the page you want to change and then select the Settings option.

At the bottom of the page's Settings interface you will see the list of theme settings that are configured for the page. Page theme settings are displayed and can be changed in the same manner as sitewide page settings.
Within the page Settings interface you will see the current images and text that are being provided for the page based on the sitewide theme settings. Simply enter new text or select a new image to override a theme setting for the page you are editing.
Next, proceed to the Pages section.
