At 24 and 20 years old, the only ribbons most people are cutting are on presents, but for Aaron Houghton and Ryan Allis, it’s just another day as CEOs of two rapidly growing companies in the Triangle. Preation and Broadwick are expanding in the midst of North Carolina’s struggling tech economy. Preation, planning for a big year, will start the year off right with a brand new website and location. Preation shares this new office space with its successful spin-off, Broadwick. The two entrepreneurial companies have a lot more in common than just office space. Like Preation, Broadwick is small, young, and successful. At 7 years old, Preation is more mature compared to 17-month old Broadwick, but Broadwick has nearly 1400 clients worldwide and is the 6th largest email marketing software company in the world.
Preation’s new website features an enhanced look, more effective organization, and over 150 pages of content, including support documentation, extensive descriptions of services and detailed information about Preation’s focus and mission. The website also features a lot more current information that, according to CEO Aaron Houghton, will act as a news feed for clients, keeping them posted with important weekly updates. The most important element featured on the website is that the site was created on Preation’s own content management system, a system so simple to use that anyone can use it to update sites without prior knowledge of HTML.
Total office space increased tenfold in the move, which represents a milestone in Preation history. Preation’s Director of Marketing, Neil Lancia says the new offices on Meridian Business Campus in Durham will expand Preation’s capabilities, allowing Preation to hire more staff to better serve new and existing clients. The added space facilitates communication between staff and clients. Also, the new location in Durham puts Preation closer to Raleigh and RTP, an advantage from which Preation hopes to benefit.
While it’s hard to celebrate such important accomplishments in one event, Preation will be hosting a ribbon cutting open house from 4-6pm on Friday, January 21st. Refreshments will be served, and guests will be able to view the new offices.
